Consecration calls for a lowly spirit and contrite heart. It is an attitude of reflection to search what things the Lord would want us to get rid of. He wants us to rend/tear our hearts not our garments (Joe 2:13). Rending the heart is not easy neither is ‘sending away one’s wife and children’ (Ezr 10:3). Today let’s take time to reflect on the implications of this charge.
- Let’s reflect on the holiness of this God, who dwells in high and lofty place, in unapproachable light and demands this consecration from us.
- Let’s ask the Lord to give us that lowly spirit and contrite heart (Isa 57:15) to hearken to His voice as He prods our hearts.
- Help us get rid of that SIN(s) that we have found so difficult to get rid of. May our hearts be rent over this sin. (Ezr 10:1)
