We are Led to intentional and Anointed Public Participation in service and Ministry by The Holy Spirit.
After Baptism and infilling with the Holy Spirit, “From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near" (Matt 4:17). Then, 23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
(Matt 4: 23-25).
What would characterize his ministry? Genuine conversions that started at repentance, and compassionate demonstrations of the miraculous attested to the kingdom of power that Jesus presented, and which we represent.
What about the apostles? Their message was the same as their Master’s. Paul in 1 Thess. 1:5 says that their “gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.” Ours must follow suit until when Christ returns. This is the biblical template. Anything less than this is a kingdom disservice. May we walk under the power of God in our service to Him.
We soak in the Holy Spirit so that we be endued with power for ministry. The Holy Spirit gives Spiritual gifts [1 Cor. 12:1-10] and anoints saints [Acts 1:8].
